Yep, I'm finally participating in a read-a-thon! It's hosted by Bout of Books Read-a-thon:
It's taking place this week, and it's low pressure. It started Monday the 15th and lasts until the end of Sunday the 20th. I'm excited! The goal is just to read more than you normally would in a week. I can't do a read-a-thon where we read for 24 hours straight or anything because I have a baby and a four year old at home that kind of count on me for their well being, so this is perfect!
So far I've already finished one book! I was able to read a lot on our drive to the beach yesterday. Yay! I finished Hourglass by Myra McEntire. It was so good! Now I'm moving on to book #2. :)
UPDATE:
So, I was able to read one and a half books, and for the week I've had, I would say that's pretty good! Gosh, sometimes kids sure can be hard to take care of! Ha! I am exhausted. But, I'm still glad I participated because I found some new bookish peeps to follow on twitter! The twitter chats are so fun, and I'm glad I got to participate.
During the read-a-thon I finished the second half of Hourglass by Myra McEntire, and then read all of Timepiece. I am really digging this series!! Review of both to come soon I hope!
Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I have never wanted to commit to those 24hr readings, no way. This one definitely seems more manageable.
ReplyDeleteYay to finishing 1 book!
ReplyDeleteSounds like we're in a similar position- I've just finished Book 1 as well. And I agree that this is much more manageable than a 24hr one when you have other things to do.
ReplyDeleteI've had Hourglass on my shelf forever! Must find time to read it this summer. I love discovering new series :)
